The Map is Not the Terrain: Thinking Strategically in All Conditions

Strategic thinking is a crucial skill in normal conditions; in disrupted ones, it is a non-negotiable competency. Strategic thinkers are those who ask the right questions, challenge conventional thinking patterns, and effectively balance short and long-term priorities.

In this powerful virtual event, participants will join Sara Gallagher (President of The Persimmon Group) and Cindy Harp (Vice President of Advisory Services) in an exploration of how leaders can think more strategically both in normal times and disrupted ones.

Important: This event is not a “webinar.”

Participants will be asked to collaborate with one another and our instructors throughout the event on both a formal case study and on exercises which apply strategic thinking to current events. Following this course, participants are encouraged to continue challenging one another outside of class through a private Facebook group or email list.

You will learn:

  • How to focus on strategic initiatives instead of short-term fire-fighting
  • How to ask the right questions to spark innovation
  • How to navigate through uncertainty
  • How to identify, analyze, and realize strategic opportunities
